Stria and Brain

Stria and Brain is a neurological visual representation of John Chowning’s Stria (1977). I recorded my brain waves using EEG while listening to the masterpiece. Then I used those brain signals to map the visual parameters of the piece. The visual shapes and patterns use the golden ratios to be congruent with the music’s unique tonal hierarchy. The narrative goes from a point, to a line, plane, 3D shapes, and the brain.
